The Eternal Pancake

I know there are people out there who want to make laws banning activities that don't harm the community as a whole because they are regarded as immoral from a biblical standpoint but that doesn't make it right. I'm not going to say what those particular activities are because I try to remain neutral however keep in mind that these activities do NOT involve murder, assault, theft, drug use or any of the more harmful activities that are made illegal for the welfare of the community as a whole.

Also please keep in mind that the community as a whole is made up of other religions, not just Christians who may not condemn such behavior.

He covers stuff like java, Photoshop, HTML and many other related subjects. He also has videos made by others on such as math. If I had known about his videos when I first went back to college I would have been already watching them.Though I got to warn you he does swear a little, not much, and it's very mild swearing.

Let me share a secret of common stupidity that we share with each other and will happen to you and your children if you decide to have any children:

Because something is common knowledge you'll sooner or later you'll assume that someone knows it already.

I hate to tell you this but that is soo wrong way o think it could lead to problems. I suggest making a list of what should be common knowledge if you ever have children. I would suggest a separate list for what is legally required when your children get older such as needing a drivers license or state ID. When I was young and as I grew up nobody told me I needed a state ID or I could be fined until one day I was applying for a job, that is not how anyone should learn something that important. But that was because everyone around me automatically assumed I already knew about needing a state ID.

Oh, you could argue that people should be looking into that before the issue but you can only do that if you know that when you grow up unless someone makes some mention that somethings will be required when a child grows up?

I know I've brought this up before but I shall reiterate for those out there who haven't got the message...

It's Winter in Washington State which means you are suppose to where warm clothes or dress in layers. It doesn't matter if you own a car either, it could break down leaving you in the cold without proper protection. You can tell me all you wan these people might just be poor but many of these people I see are wearing expensive clothes or expensive electronics.

If your car does break down keep in mind you can use the seat covers and padding insulate yourself from the cold. Also it's good to carry a few trash bags, you can wrap them around your shoes or socks to protect your feet from the cold, but mostly it's for it's rain or snow.

With the hope of a new year ahead of us we should also keep in mind the violence of the previous year. Unfortunately you can't prevent violence, no laws or restrictions will prevent someone from trying to commit an act of violence.

Consider this, you can create a law that restricts gun possession but there will always be someone who can make or buy a gun for someone who wants a gun bad enough. Also keep in mind that if guns were just out right banned the criminals will still have guns, but now the respectable citizens will have one less piece of defense.

After considering the gun then you must consider the act of violence itself which is dependent on owning a gun. The environment around someone is surrounded with objects that can be used to kill so a person determined to kill doesn't need a gun. If you don't believe me look at your home and consider for a moment each object and the various ways they could be used to do harm and you will see what I mean.

So how do we prevent violence in society?

- Keep an eye out for people who are abnormally aggressive, suspicious or signs that those who know the individual are fearful of them.

- The bible has a good piece of advice which don't do anything you wouldn't want someone to do to you. Take it a step further, consider if the person can tolerate the same things as you, something you put up with on a regular basis might drive someone else to violent action. Like the difference between sneaking up on a friend and soldier. Do that is likely to get you hurt or even killed. And on the other side you might think harassing someone you know is okay because the put up with it but trust me just because they don't say anything doesn't mean that don't like what your saying or doing.

- Don't do the crime if you want to keep your limbs or life. Stealing even a object you think is worthless could be justification in another person's mind to try and hurt you. Drugs? Worse, druggers will kill other users for their stash and other criminals will steal their stash for resale. That's not considering assault, murder, embezzlement or other crimes that might push people over the edge.

- Verbal abuse is asking for trouble from the rest of the world. People may think someone is great for swearing at and busing others without provocation until someone take a shot at them for real. Don't encourage that sort of idiocy after all if they want to criticize someones idea or actions they should be able to construct a sound and reasonable argument against the subject. If an argument can't be constructed it's probably a sign the person just doesn't like the person or idea without justification. Though you can tell people where to get off if they make a big deal or call you names. After all, in that case you are the victim and they have no right to complain. But even then be careful and if necessary be discrete.

- Don't forget treat everyone with respect even if you would rather tell someone to take a flying leap of a tall building. Also treat your enemies nice, it drives them nuts. Enemies want justification to get rid of or hurt you so don't let them provoke you.                             

I know, I know I haven't been  posting for a while but I've been soo busy with classes.

So for New Years I thought I would explain the name of my blog the "Eternal Pancake" to those who may one day read this blog. It's quite simply a reference to hard and sweet sides of life in general. Some days if feels like you've been flatten by life in general and other days it's sweet as syrup on the pancake of life.

Yes, a bizarre philosophical name I admit but I'm a bizarre person.
